September 28 Prayer:
O little martyr of Love, you know now even better than in the days of your pilgrimage that Love embraces all vocations; that it is Love alone which counts, which unites us perfectly to God and conforms our will with His. All you sought on earth was love; to love Jesus as He had never yet been loved. Use your power in Heaven to make us love Him. If only we love Him we shall desire to make Him loved by others; we shall pray much for souls. We shall no longer fear death, for it will unite us to Him forever. Obtain for us the grace to do all for the love of God, to give Him pleasure, to love Him so well that He may be pleased with us as He was with you.
(Offer your personal intentions…) Intercede for us all the days of our life, but especially during this Novena and obtain for us from God the graces and favors we ask through your intercession. Amen.
September 29 Prayer:
Dear St. Thérèse, like you I have to die one day. I beseech you, obtain from God, by reminding Him of your own precious death, that I may have a holy death, strengthened by the Sacraments of the Church, entirely resigned to the most holy Will of God, and burning with love for Him. May my last words on earth be, “My God. I love You.”
(Offer your personal intentions…) Intercede for us all the days of our life, but especially during this Novena and obtain for us from God the graces and favors we ask through your intercession. Amen.
September 30 Prayer:
Dear Little St. Thérèse, by love and suffering while you were on earth, you won the power with God which you now enjoy in Heaven. Since your life there began, you have showered down countless blessings on this poor world; you have been an instrument made use of by your Divine Spouse to work countless miracles. I beg of you to remember all my wants. Sufferings must come to me also, may I use them to love God more, and follow my Jesus better. You are especially the little missionary of love. Make me love Jesus more, and all others for His sake. With all my heart I thank the Most Holy Trinity for the wonderful blessings conferred on you, and upon the world through you.
(Offer your personal intentions…) Intercede for us all the days of our life, but especially during this Novena and obtain for us from God the graces and favors we ask through your intercession. Amen.
Some parishioners are receiving text messages and emails from our priests requesting assistance or gift cards. Our clergy will never contact you for any such type of requests, and you should always disregard these messages. Please do not respond in any way. Thank you!
St. Clare Church is one of twelve pilgrimage sites for the Jubilee Year. Bishop Soto encourages all Catholics to make a pilgrimage and visit the twelve sites and to reflect and pray upon the three diocesan themes for the Jubilee. Partial and plenary indulgences can be earned for pilgrimage and/or practice. The Diocese of Sacramento's Pilgrims of Hope webpage lists each parish and the days and hours that each pilgrimage site is open during the Jubilee Year.
Whether you are a new parishioner or a seasoned veteran here at St Clare Catholic Church, you are encouraged to “Love and Serve God” in ministry work. Many opportunities exist for you to apply your gifts and to help those in our community.
Prayerfully consider your situation and ask for God's help to guide you. Please give special consideration to the John 11 Ministry, a ministry devoted to caring for the families who have the difficult task of burying someone they love. You may contact St Clare Parish staff at (916) 772-4717 to ask about other very important ministries and their contact information.
“Do Something Beautiful for God”
St. Mother Teresa, Patron Saint of Volunteers
St. Clare offers many different opportunities for returning your gifts of time and talent to God. As stewards of God-given skills and abilities, volunteering in a ministry or organization provides a way to thank God, share your faith with others, and enhance our community.
If you're interested in joining a ministry at St. Clare, view the Ministry Contact List for more information.
There are several groups at St. Clare that pray the rosary. One group prays the rosary before Mass, another after the daily Masses, and other groups throughout the parish pray the rosary at different times.
Our prayer is that you connect with one of those groups. However, if you are looking for a group to suit your needs, please consider joining the Monday evening Rosary Prayer Group via zoom at 7:00 PM. We pray the rosary primarily for our nation and our church… but we also pray for many intentions. After the rosary, we pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and end with the Litany to St. Joseph. If you have questions, please call Rita Schillin at (916) 872-4700 or [email protected].
Join the rosary ANY Monday at 7:00 PM by clicking the Zoom link below or entering the ID and passcode:
